At P&N, we believe in the power of the collective working together to benefit WA individuals and families.
Through our Helping &nds Program, our members have directly helped hundreds of West Australians with basic needs and a helping hand when they need it most.
And it was through Helping &nds that we met the Bates family from Waikiki. Amber and Russell Bates and their four gorgeous kids are a West Aussie family who could definitely use a change in luck.
This warm and loving family have certainly been through their share of hardships. Their youngest Adison was born premature with oral dyspraxia, chronic lung disease and cerebral palsy. Two of the other children are on the autism spectrum and dad Russell recently battled kidney cancer.
This young community-minded family live and are home schooled in a tiny, worn down, 1950’s beach shack that is barely liveable. Filled with asbestos and falling apart at the seams, Amber and Russell bought the land, close to the beach, with the intention of one day knocking it down to build their dream home.
That dream was taken away from them as a succession of medical downturns occurred throughout the family and the bills took over. Never complaining and ever optimistic, Amber and Russell decided to invest in their children’s lives first accepting that their home wouldn’t be changing for a long time to come.
Over 4 days, P&N Bank joined with Matt and Kim to the Rescue7 to create a family home that was not only much more comfortable but one where the Bates' can flourish.
Join us as P&N Bank volunteers, over 200 WA trades and over 70 WA companies transform this little beach shack into an awe-inspiring family home and home school.
