When times are tough financially, insurance is often one of the first things people will let slide. But sadly, it’s often also the time that they may need it the most.
We know many of our members are facing increased financial stress as a result of the COVID-19 situation, and both P&N Bank and QBE Insurance are working together to support our members and insurance customers.
One of QBE’s highest priorities is ensuring that P&N members continue to be insured during this time, protecting you against the unforeseen.
We’re here to help with a number of options available to help you retain your cover should you be considering cancelling or letting lapse.
Payments by instalments
If you are currently paying your insurance premium by instalments (monthly or fortnightly), we can help you:
Talk to us about the most appropriate option available.
If you hold a loan with P&N, you may have chosen to take out Consumer Credit Insurance when your loan was funded and you may have Unemployment Cover under your policy. Check your policy or contact us to find out if you’re eligible for this cover and how to make a claim.
QBE are extending their employee well-being program to P&N members who have purchased insurance through QBE. They will provide eligible members access to up to three one-hour sessions with an experienced psychologist, regardless of whether the member is making a claim.
Bonus for motor vehicle insurance policy holders
We recognise that through isolation, and working from home, many motorists are not using their cars as often. While kilometres travelled isn’t a rating factor for your policy, QBE Insurance have launched a benefit for our private-use motor insurance policy holders.
Eligible Australian comprehensive car insurance customers will receive a one-off $50 gift card, while third party (excluding CTP), third party fire and theft, motorcycle and caravan insurance customers will receive a $25 gift card.
This offer will be made available to existing customers and new policies entered into before 30 June 2020. More information on how to register for your gift card will be sent to eligible members in the coming weeks.
Making a claim
If you need to make an insurance claim for any reason, we're still here to take your call and process your claim. QBE have taken actions to minimise the risk for you and for their network of suppliers, including assessors, restorers, builders and repairers. The supplier network has introduced screening questions before any customer visits and are following the latest health and safety advice. QBE have also started using live video assessments with a number of suppliers in some instances.
If you need assistance, or are not sure what you’re covered for, contact us on webchat or call us on 13 25 77 to discuss your policy and the assistance options available.
