Frequently asked questions

  • How much is insurance for a motorcycle?

The cost of Motorcycle insurance varies depending on the level of cover you’d like and your insurance provider. For example, Comprehensive motorcycle insurance is more expensive than Third Party Property Damage insurance due to Comprehensive insurance providing cover for damage to your motorcycle, as well as damage caused to others.

  • How does Motorcycle insurance work?

Motorcycle insurance may cover loss or damage to your motorbike due to an accident, severe weather conditions, fire, and theft. It also helps covers your legal liability for accidental third party property damage caused by your bike.

Depending on the level of cover you’re after for your motorbike will depend on what type of insurance you choose. We offer full Comprehensive cover, which is our highest level of cover, as well as Third Party Fire and Theft and Third Party Property Damage. If you’re not sure which policy would be suitable for you, it’s best to compare the available options and refer to the relevant Product Disclosure Statement.

  • What does Third Party motorcycle insurance cover?

Third Party Property Damage motorcycle insurance helps provide cover for your legal liability for loss or damage to another person’s vehicle or property, as well as any injuries caused to others in the event of an accident. It is the most basic level of cover out of all motorcycle insurance policies.

Third Party Fire and Theft also covers this, and additionally covers any loss or damage caused to your motorcycle by fire or theft.

  • Should I get Comprehensive insurance on a motorcycle?

Whether you purchase Comprehensive motorcycle insurance depends on your needs and financial situation.

Comprehensive insurance is a type of motorcycle insurance, accommodating for most motor vehicle related claims and protecting against motor vehicle accidents. Unlike Third Party insurance, Comprehensive insurance covers damage or loss to another person’s vehicle or property, as well as your own. It also can provide cover for your legal liability in the event of a motor vehicle accident.
