Eight decades of ‘I do’

The passing time never changed the loveliness of my wife for me. She remained a beautiful blessing throughout our long marriage.

After passing away in 2005 at the age of 107, Peter Casserly’s memory lives on as one of the most touching examples of the Power of &.

As Australia’s last survivor of the Western Front during WW1 in France, Peter experienced the power of camaraderie on the infamous battlefields of Ypres, Armentieres and Amiens. Yet he also relished the most intimate form of the Power of &, achieving Australia’s longest marriage of 80 years and 10 months.

We will forever remember Peter for his selfless sacrifice to his country, and enduring commitment to his wife, Monica.
