Dawn Gleeson is a brave woman, determinedly raising funds for breast cancer research throughout Perth having battled breast cancer not once, but twice.
Dawn has undertaken tremendous fundraising efforts through events in Perth, such as the Pink High Tea in Joondalup in October where she raised over $10,000 for continuing research into the cancer which affects one in eight women.
Despite her battles, she has worked tirelessly this year to raise awareness for early detection of breast cancer.
As the wife of head coach of the Perth Wildcats, Trevor Gleeson, the cause is near and dear to the team and the whole Wildcats community have rallied behind her. Last month, the Red Army turned the jungle into a sea of pink in support of Breast Cancer Care WA.
The team hit the court in special hot pink jerseys for their game against the Illawarra Hawks. Fans also rallied behind the cause, donning their own pink outfits and donating on the night.
While the boys didn't take home the win against the Hawks, they raised $13,980 for the organisation, who provide support for West Australian breast cancer patients and their family and friends.
It goes to show the impact the Power of & can have when people rally together behind a common cause; Dawn's vision is for a world without breast cancer, and for young people to be aware that they too can be at risk and Dawn's contribution towards organisations like Breast Cancer WA can help spread the word.
P&N Bank is also proud to have given a Helping &nd to Breast Cancer Care WA earlier in 2017, and also to the Breast Cancer Research Centre in the most recent round of the program.
