Long-term P&N member Bev regularly comes into contact with people and families going through a tough time as part of her role as a volunteer for the Salvation Army. That’s why she became a regular nominator to the P&N Helping &nds program.
Helping &nds is a P&N Bank member program that provides financial support or services to West Australians suffering hardship or misfortune due to circumstances beyond their control.
P&N members can contribute to the program by nominating friends, neighbours or colleagues who are doing it tough. People nominated for a Helping &nd don't even need to be members of P&N.
In 2019 alone, Bev has nominated four deserving people and families in need of a Helping &nd and has been a regular nominator for the past two years. P&N members can make up to four nominations each calendar year.
Through Bev’s nominations, P&N has been able to provide clothing, furniture and white goods to support to a family who'd lost everything to a house fire, and provide financial support to a grandmother who permanently cares for her young grandson.
To thank Bev for her contribution to the program, P&N invited her to attend our annual Flourish community partnerships event - watch what she had to say.
From the nominations of other P&N members, we’ve also been able to support many West Australians, including a dad battling cancer and unable to work whose child was diagnosed with a neurological disease, a member who urgently needed a CPAP machine for chronic sleep apnoea, and provided financial support for a young family whose child had a heart condition and had exhausted all of their resources.
Through the power of the collective, P&N Bank members like Bev are given the opportunity to support others and make their community flourish.
If you know of someone that’s going through a hard time, you can nominate them online today.
We also provide support for community groups through our Helping &nds Groups community grants program.
