Back in January 2024, P&N Bank announced a new partnership with Vinnies WA to assist our customers – and the wider WA community – with their money management.

As a highly respected not-for-profit working in financial counselling, emergency assistance and homelessness services, teaming up with Vinnies simply makes sense. After all, we live and breathe financial inclusion, and strive to help our customers build the financial future they want to achieve, no matter who they are.

What is it?

P&N’s support through the partnership has helped fund a dedicated Financial Capability Coach who provides coaching sessions to help individuals assess their financial situation, set goals, and create a personalised financial wellbeing plan. This Financial Coaching Service is designed to assist those heading into or recovering from financial difficulty, and the sessions are completely confidential.

The Vinnies Financial Capability Coach has visited several of our Perth branches since the beginning of our partnership. They spent time talking with customers about their financial health, all while they were carrying out their everyday banking tasks.

Vinnies WA also provides a Financial Counselling service which is available to anyone in WA. This service provides free, confidential and independent support to individuals and families experiencing debt or financial hardship. Services include budgeting assistance, negotiating with creditors, and referrals to specialised support services.

Key stats

  • More than 2,100 hours of Financial Counselling and Financial Capability Coaching sessions have been delivered to date.
  • 80% of counselling sessions have focused on budgeting.
  • 289 Financial Coaching sessions completed since January 2025.
  • 321 Financial Counselling sessions completed since January 2025.

How it helps

As the stats show, our Vinnies WA partnership has been well received and has provided support to many customers and members of the WA community. As the services are tailored to each individual, the outcome of the assistance can be lifechanging for some.

This was the case recently for a young man in his early 20s. Living in shared accommodation with no family support, the man was struggling to pay his rent and utility bills on top of some court-issued fines. Through Vinnies WA he has completed eight hours of Financial Coaching which is equivalent to $560 paid off toward his court fines. He now has the budgeting skills and money knowledge to help him build on his financial future and has been able to move into more stable accommodation, which in turn has allowed him to actively seek employment.

Thank you, Vinnies WA

We’re committed to assisting our customers with their financial wellbeing and giving a hand to those facing financial challenges – and Vinnies WA help us to do just that. P&N Bank is proud of our partnership, and we value the support it provides to people across WA.
