Police & Nurses Limited strives for a culture of corporate compliance and ethical behaviour. Our Whistleblower Protection Policy aims to preserve and protect an ethical working environment. The policy covers:
- the procedures to follow to protect the identity of a whistleblower,
- the types of disclosures that qualify for protection under the Corporations Act (Whistleblower Protection Scheme),
- who to make disclosures to and how those disclosures will be investigated.
Our Board and Executive recognise that climate change has the potential to impact our organisation, our members, and the communities in which we operate.
As stated on the Market Forces website: “P&N Bank primarily lends for residential and investment housing/property/land, personal loans and credit cards. P&N Bank’s business lending excludes large-scale activities, projects and industries involved in exploration, extraction, or production of fossil fuels or in electricity generation from fossil fuels."
Even though we do not directly finance initiatives in the areas mentioned above we acknowledge that, currently, the use of fossil fuel energy is critical to the socio-economic sustainability of many individuals, businesses and communities who are still dependent on non-renewable energy. We will continue offering such individuals, businesses and communities financing and other services that they need for core business activities in areas other than the ones mentioned above.
In accordance with our values of partnering and supporting our members and their communities, we will continue to develop and improve our lending policies, procedures and products to support us, our members, and their communities to sustainably transition to a low-carbon future.

As a customer-owned bank, we have a history of serving the customers and communities in which we operate and acknowledge that we have a part to play in addressing the environmental and social issues that these communities are facing. We acknowledge the urgency of climate change and the importance of taking decisive action now to protect the environment, promote sustainable development, and create a better world for future generations.
Our Climate Action Plan is more than just words on paper, it’s our commitment to:
• Reduce the impact of our operations and to help our customers and their communities transition to a lower emissions society.
• Understand, act and report on the risk that Climate Change poses to our customers, their communities and our own business operations and assets.
• Help our customers to transition their homes and businesses to become more sustainable.
• Partner with our peers, specialists, and subject matter experts to ensure we continue to evolve and mature and can empower others to do the same.
We will continue to review, adapt, and refine our approach to climate action over time to ensure our commitments remain aligned with best practice and are customer focused.
Download the Climate Action PlanAs a customer-owned banking group our purpose is to enrich the lives of our customers and their communities. So having an effective modern slavery response is important to us. We acknowledge the magnitude of the problem of modern slavery – with over 40 million people in slavery or slave-like conditions worldwide.
In developing our statement, our key focus has been identifying any potential areas of elevated risks of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains, including those that may be in distant tiers, far-removed from the suppliers with whom we have a direct contractual relationship.
P&N Group’s Modern Slavery Statement sets out:
- mandatory reporting requirements under the Act
- a description of modern slavery risks in our supply chains and operations
- areas of potential elevated risk in our supply chains
- actions to address risks of modern slavery.
