Home Guarantee Scheme

Home Guarantee Scheme

The Home Guarantee Scheme (HGS) is helping eligible Australian's purchase their first home sooner with a deposit of as little as 2% or 5%, without having to pay Lender's Mortgage Insurance.

From 31 May 2024, we will no longer be accepting new loans as part of the Home Guarantee Scheme. All customers with current loans through the Scheme are unaffected by this change. Learn more.

The Home Guarantee Scheme is an Australian Government initiative to support eligible home buyers to purchase a home sooner. Within the Scheme, there are currently three Guarantees:

First Home Guarantee (FHBG)

Supports eligible first home buyers to purchase a home sooner.

Regional First Home Buyer Guarantee (RFHBG)

Supports eligible first home buyers to purchase a home sooner, in a regional area.

Family Home Guarantee (FHG)

Supports eligible single parents and legal guardians of a dependent to purchase a home sooner.
