A telephone scam is when a scammer calls you and claims to be from your bank, the ATO, a telco provider or other trusted organisation. They may ask you for personal or your banking details, or ask you to move money or make a transfer to get your funds back.

Often scammers try to hide their identity by replacing their number with another number. This is called 'spoofing' and means they can call you from a number known to you to make you think you’re being contacted from a recognised caller.

Please be aware that we will never ask you for any of your login information, or direct you to download anything. We'll also never ask you to transfer money to correct an error.

If you receive a call from someone claiming to be a P&N employee and it sounds unusual, please don't provide any banking or personal information. Ask for their name, hang up and call us on 13 25 77 to validate the query.
