What is a Target Market Determination?

Target Market Determinations (TMD) are required under section 994B of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). They outline:

  • who a product is likely appropriate for,
  • how the product may be distributed,
  • why and when this TMD will be reviewed; and
  • obligations of distributors.

A TMD is not intended to provide financial advice. When deciding if a product is suitable for you, always make sure you refer to the relevant product Terms and Conditions and any supplementary document(s) such as the Fees and Charges and Interest Rate Schedule. These will outline the relevant terms and conditions being provided under that product.

We’re here to help, so if you have any questions about a TMD, you can message us, email us, call 13 25 77, or visit your local branch.
