Frequently asked questions

  • Why should I get Travel insurance?

As much as you might try to plan for your travels, sometimes situations may arise that you simply can’t expect. From losing your passport to dangerous weather conditions, having travel insurance helps give you peace of mind and means you may be eligible to receive compensation for situations that might go awry.

Purchasing travel insurance prior to your trip means you may be covered for emergency overseas medical expenses, loss of personal belongings and cancellation costs. You may also have cover for legal liability as a result of a covered incident.

Contact us on 13 25 77 for a free quote on travel insurance today.

  • How much does Travel insurance cost?

The cost of Travel insurance varies depending on what type of travel insurance you’re after. International travel insurance is often more expensive than domestic travel insurance. Similarly, travel insurance options with more cover such as cancellation cover, an annual multi trip policy or rental vehicle excess would also cost more.

  • What is covered in Travel insurance?

Depending on the type of travel insurance you choose, it can cover many things. Some travel insurance policies cover pregnancy concerns, while others may provide cover for overseas medical treatment. Most travel insurance options include cancellation policies and can help provide assistance in the instance your luggage is lost, you experience travel delays or cancellations, and for overseas medical and hospital cover.

We recommend you refer to the relevant Product Disclosure Statement for more information.

  • What types of Travel insurance are there?

The main types of travel insurance are International Travel insurance and Domestic Travel insurance, and they may offer varying levels of coverage. P&N Bank offers one domestic option and three international options depending on what level of cover you’re after – a platinum plan, a premium plan, and an essentials plan.

  • Is Travel insurance available in Australia?

Yes, it is. There are many travel insurance policies available to Aussies who want to explore domestically and internationally. Australian government benefits such as free healthcare are not always available overseas, so it may be a good idea to purchase travel insurance for emergency medical treatment and other protection against events such as lost luggage and cancellation or rescheduling.
