  • I am travelling overseas, do I need to advise you?

    At P&N Bank, we take your money seriously. That’s why we want to help you keep your funds secure whether you’re going about your day to day business in Australia or travelling overseas. In order to identify fraudulent activity, we have systems in place where certain potentially suspicious transactions are monitored and investigated.

    When you’re planning on going outside of Australia, it’s important that you let us know before you leave. We’ll update our records with your destination so that you can continue accessing your money with ease and peace of mind, no matter where in the world you are. The information we require includes which countries you’ll be visiting, when you expect to be back in Australia and how we can reach you if we suspect any fraudulent activity has taken place.

    To let us know about your travel plans you can use the Mobile App and go to  Overseas Travel > Your Travel Plans or alternatively you call 13 25 77 or visit your local branch and one of our friendly team will be happy to assist.

  • Can I use my debit card overseas?

    Yes, P&N Banks VISA debit cards can be used anywhere overseas that accepts Visa - over 40 million merchants and 2.5 million ATM's globally.

    Alternatively, P&N Bank offers the MasterCard Multi-currency Cash Passport.

     

  • Do you have a travel card?

    Yes, you can get easy and secure access to the local currency you need with a MasterCard Multi-Currency Cash Passport debit card.

    Simply visit any P&N branch to buy your MasterCard Multi-Currency Cash Passport.

     

  • What phone number can I use if I need to urgently contact you from overseas?

    To contact us when you're overseas please call +61 8 9219 7609 Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and Sat 9am-5pm AWST.

     

  • How can I access my accounts overseas?

    Account Information
    You can access your account information via our Internet Banking Service and Mobile Banking App. Its a good idea to change your 2-Factor Authentication from Secure SMS to the Security Password before you leave. 

    Purchases
    You can use your P&N Bank Visa card to make purchases overseas, remember, you will need to press 'Credit' and enter your PIN number.  A 3% conversion rate applies to convert the transaction into Australian dollars so it can be processed through your account

    Withdrawals
    You can use your P&N Bank Visa card to make ATM withdrawals. Remember there is a fee for every ATM withdrawal, and 3% conversion rate applies to convert the transaction into Australian dollars.

    Alternatively, P&N Bank offers the MasterCard Multi-currency Cash Passport.
     

  • How do I authorise card payments when I travel overseas?

    Most overseas merchants will process payments with a PIN, however a small minority may use a signature to verify. It is a good idea to memorise your PIN before you leave.

  • What should I do before I go travelling?

    Notify Us
    Please notify us of your travel dates by using Secure Mail within Internet Banking or use the overseas travel notification feature in the mobile App. Alternatively, please call 13 25 77 or visit your local branch and one of our friendly team will be happy to assist.

    Memorise your PIN
    You will need to know your PIN for purchases and ATM withdrawals. 

    Internet Banking
    Change your Internet banking Second Factor Authentication from Secure SMS to Security Password.

     

  • Is it safe to sign for purchases when I go overseas?

    Your Australian issued credit or debit card may or may not support PIN when you travel overseas, depending on your destination. If the equipment at the overseas merchant does not allow you to use PIN, you should still feel safe that you are protected by signature verification. Be sure that you have signed the back of your card, and that the merchant checks the signature for verification.

  • What am I charged for using my account overseas?

    Overseas ATM withdrawals are charged at $5 per transaction. 

    All overseas transactions will be subject to a 3% conversion cost which will be added to the transaction amount.

  • I am overseas and can't access my funds as it says my bank is not allowing the transaction to go through.

    There may be multiple reasons to why you are unable to access funds.

    If you did not advise us your were travelling overseas your card may have been blocked by our Fraud Department. You can contact us +61 2 8299 9543 to discuss any transactions and advise them of your travel arrangements.

  • How do I transfer funds onto a multi currency card?

    You can transfer funds onto your Mastercard Multi-Currency Cash Passport card with a BPAY payment.

  • I am overseas and my Platinum credit card has been lost/ stolen - what do I do?

    Your P&N Bank Platinum credit card can be replaced at no cost by either:

    • Calling Visa Global Customer Assistance on +1 303 967 1090
